Google Hangout

Dear colleagues ,,, good morning 

Today I am going to talk about one of the google apps which is common and used for different purposes but i will talk about it concerning to education . firstly we need to define google hangouts :

 

Google Hangouts is a singular communications platform developed by Google to help users initiate and engage in various communications channels, including text, voice or video chats. The platform has proven to be effective in either one-on-one implementation or in a group. Hangouts are integrated into Google+ and G mail. For added mobility and versatility, mobile apps for iOS and Android devices are also available.        

Also it can be defined A web-based tool created by Google for communicating through video. Up to ten people can "hang out" at one time in a virtual "room." A Hangout can be as simple or as complex as needed for the task at hand. It can be used simply to converse or, through the use of extra apps and add-on that Google provides, a Hangout can become a robust, virtual meeting space.

Who can use it?

One of the best aspects of Google Hangouts is that all you need is a Google Plus account to start one. If you already use Gmail, that means you already have a Google account, and all you would need to do is set up your Google Plus account. Anyone you want to talk to also needs to have a Google account and a Google Plus account set up. Once those first steps are out of the way, all you have to do is click "Start a Hangout," invite some people and begin your live video conference.

 Uses for students:

• Primary students:

They can be great for connecting classrooms. Imagine a book club spread out over the country with classes meeting weekly to discuss what they have been reading. Hangouts can also be a great way to connect experts with students all over the world. For example, in that nationwide book club, authors can talk with numerous classrooms at one time. Scientists can speak to a wide audience of students about a relevant topic or event, or just to share their experiences as scientists

•  Secondary schools: 

  Many of the applications for elementary classrooms can be applied to middle and high school classrooms, but since students 13 and older can create their own Google accounts, Hangouts become a great way for students to engage in connected learning experiences with their peers and with experts. 

• Uses for teachers and administrators:  

From my own experience in using hangouts with my colleagues and my manager it was useful in collaborating together and sharing ideas and decisions ,,we were consuming much time time in meetings but after we use it we saved our time

Note:

I  used hangouts with my students through their parents because they were children with special needs in basic school with different disabilities i was communicate with them and their parents ,, sometimes they ask me if they faced any problem  or questions

The role of the electronic library in education

Dear colleagues,,, Today I am going to talk about the electronic library which is became modern, effective and fast tool for gaining knowledge that help the students to find information s,researches and books also we can use it at any time it is not limited by time.
From my own experience i downloaded it in my computer and  it helped me a lot in finding a research topic in undergraduate it was so rich with authenticated data from many resources i found many things other than researches such as books, articles,educational programs and etc.......

Computer Sciences as school subject

Dear colleagues,,Today I am going to talk about computer sciences as one of the subjects which is teach for the secondary school students as a part of their assessment ,, To go deep in this topic we need to know many things. Nowadays many teenagers or even kids know about How to use computer at least they know the basics about it 

First what is computer sciences:
Computer science is the study of the theory, experimentation, and engineering that form the basis for the design and use of computers. It is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications and the systematic study of the feasibility, structure, expression, and mechanization of the methodical procedures (or algorithms) that underlie the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information. An alternate, more succinct definition of computer science is the study of automating algorithmic processes that scale. A computer scientist specializes in the theory of computation and the design of computational systems.^[1]
 Computer science in secondary schools is an area of increasing interest and concern to educators as well as to computer science professionals. But the most important question Why we teach computer sciences in our schools and is it really useful and implemented practically or it is just a theoretical subject? from my reflective experience when I was student Teaching computer is useful for students it can help them to prepare them 
self to future as we know nowadays we use computers in every sectors and it is 
required in many institutions to have a job but unfortunately it is not implemented in many schools for many reasons and I will talk about this challenges and how we can fix it .

The challenges that face implementing of I.C.T in our schools:

• The availability of the computer devices.
• Qualified teacher.
• The fund to repair and fix any problem in computers
• Ministry of education didn't make workshop or training courses for teachers to be updated to the new.

•  Curriculum developers should make computer education one of the core subjects to be offered in secondary schools.  

I wish if this subject is provided for preschool children and primary school students .
